I bought a used Ford Explorer that had a noticeable smoke smell, particularly inside the cabin. I was interested in deep cleaning the upholstery and headliner rather than just masking the odor with an air freshener. For anyone buying a previously owned vehicle, interior cleaning and odor treatment are worth considering. Results can vary depending on how deeply the smell has settled into the materials. I wanted to get my car cleaned up before returning the lease, especially because the interior had picked up some stains and general wear. The detail made the car feel much fresher inside and out. It was worth having it professionally cleaned rather than trying to tackle everything myself right before the return.
